Calling all professional chefs!
October is National Pork Month so Winefest and the Iowa Pork Producers Association want YOU to submit a pork focused recipe that best reflects Iowa in the Fall! The LIVE contest will happen Friday, October 20th at the third annual Pork + Pinot. Each chef participant may choose between a specific type of pork cut, which will be shared with us as a later date.
Here are a few guidelines that must be followed:
– Main ingredient MUST be pork
– Submit recipe to winefest@winefestdesmoines.com no later than Monday, October 2nd.
– Judging and tasting will occur at Pork + Pinot and be judged by an official panel during the first hour of the event. People’s Choice will also be awarded for each cut and all of the attendees of the event will be allowed to vote between 6:30 – 8:30 pm
– The winners will be announced at 9:00 pm at the event!
– You will be given a stipend of $500 to serve 250 – 300 samples
– If you prefer not to make the samples, we have partnered with a catering partner, you must supply the recipe and detailed instructions of how you would like it prepared. You will not receive the stipend, but will receive the prize should your recipe win.
